Ksenia's Path to AutiHD

Ksenia, as a co-founder of AutiHD, could you articulate the overarching vision and key priorities guiding your current endeavors, and what essential message you hope to convey about the profound mission driving your work?

At AutiHD, our core mission is about fostering a truly inclusive world where every individual is empowered to develop their unique talents and strengths. We firmly believe that inclusion extends far beyond merely opening doors; it means actively cultivating environments where people have the genuine space and unwavering support to flourish. A significant part of our efforts revolves around education, consciously raising awareness and deepening understanding of what neurodiversity genuinely entails in everyday practice. The more openly we discuss it, the more effectively we can transform how workplaces and communities perceive and integrate diverse talent. Currently, with our Mindory App, the next six months are primarily dedicated to two critical areas: strategic marketing initiatives to expand our reach, and continuous refinement of our iOS version. This refinement is meticulously driven by the invaluable feedback we receive directly from our users. It’s this iterative process, deeply rooted in listening to their experiences and making thoughtful adjustments, that truly helps us build a solution that resonates and makes a tangible impact.
"Always start from the real problems of future users, not from your own imagination."

What specifically ignited your passion for focusing on neurodiversity support for adults with ADHD and autism, and how have your unique personal and professional experiences profoundly influenced this unwavering commitment?

My initial exposure to the challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals began during my journalism studies. I worked on a project focused on a community supporting children with autism, and I was absolutely captivated by their extraordinary talents. Some could play the piano with astonishing brilliance, while others created truly remarkable drawings. However, it was equally painful to witness how often the system failed them. Instead of fostering their growth and nurturing their unique abilities, the prevailing focus was on making them as 'convenient' and 'uniform' as possible. Nearly 15 years later, after relocating to Luxembourg, I met my co-founder, Joël. He further illuminated how narrow society’s perspective often remains and the deeply ingrained stereotypes we continue to harbor about autistic individuals. Like many others, my initial associations with autism were heavily influenced by films like Rain Man. So, encountering Joël – a remarkably intelligent, humorous, and engaging person – fundamentally challenged my preconceived mental image of autism. As I learned more about his personal story, a crucial realization dawned on me: the challenges for autistic individuals do not simply dissipate with childhood. They persist throughout university life and within professional workplaces, where people are, once again, expected to conform to rigid boxes, often at the profound cost of concealing or limiting their true talents. What struck me most powerfully was that, despite the passage of years and even being in a completely different country, the underlying problems remained disturbingly consistent. Everywhere, to varying degrees, society still struggles to see beyond simplistic stereotypes. This is precisely why our mission at AutiHD feels so incredibly urgent. Neurodivergent individuals do not require 'fixing'; instead, the world itself needs to evolve so they can be fully seen, genuinely valued, and allowed to thrive. For me, it is immensely inspiring to know that every step we take can contribute to shaping a future where differences are not suppressed, but rather celebrated as inherent strengths.

Reflecting on your entrepreneurial path with AutiHD, what was the most surprising or impactful lesson you've encountered when navigating the dynamic agility of a startup alongside the intricate complexities inherent in providing neurodiversity support?

My journey with AutiHD has truly underscored how much we initially oversimplified the concept of 'supporting autistic and ADHD people.' We began with a notion of a singular, monolithic audience. However, the most profound and unexpected lesson we’ve learned is the immense diversity within the neurodivergent community itself – what proves helpful and empowering for one individual can be overwhelmingly challenging for another. This realization compelled us to fundamentally re-evaluate our product development. We now understand that our Mindory App cannot be conceived as merely 'a solution,' but rather as a highly flexible and adaptable tool, meticulously designed to adjust and personalize itself to the unique needs and preferences of each user.

AutiHD's Tech, Traction & Growth

Beyond individual support, how is AutiHD currently engaging with employers to cultivate more inclusive workplaces, and what specific employer-facing features or deeper integrations are you strategically planning for your future roadmap?

Currently, our engagement with employers extends beyond simply providing a platform. We work directly with organizations to foster a more inclusive and understanding workplace culture. This involves delivering comprehensive workshops that raise critical awareness about neurodiversity, conducting audits of existing workplace practices to identify areas for improvement, and establishing mentorship programs designed to help teams adapt their workflows. The goal is always to create an environment that significantly reduces stress for their autistic and ADHD employees, allowing them to thrive. Looking ahead, our roadmap will strategically build upon these foundational offerings, potentially incorporating more integrated employer-facing features that streamline these awareness and adaptation processes.

From a strategic business development perspective, what pioneering partnership models or innovative market adoption strategies are you actively deploying to successfully scale AutiHD's impact and reach within the dynamic European ecosystem?

From a business development standpoint, our scaling strategy within the European ecosystem is multi-faceted, leveraging both our localized strength and broader accessibility goals. Luxembourg serves as an ideal launchpad; its small size, multilingual population, and high connectivity allow us to rapidly test, gather feedback, and adapt our solution with remarkable agility. This direct market engagement, including partnerships with institutions supporting autistic individuals, enables us to implement changes quickly and ensure our solution remains closely attuned to real-world needs. Crucially, a key long-term strategy involves pursuing reimbursement for our solution. We aim for Mindory to be covered by insurance, a goal that is increasingly realistic as many European countries progressively adopt more flexible policies for digital health tools. This creates a powerful pathway for us to scale while simultaneously maintaining product accessibility. Simultaneously, we are actively forging partnerships with companies genuinely committed to enhancing workplace inclusion. For us, market adoption isn't solely reliant on the healthcare system; it also involves directly engaging with forward-thinking employers who recognize the intrinsic value of proactively supporting their neurodivergent employees. This strategic combination of healthcare and workplace channels provides AutiHD with a unique and robust position in the evolving European market.
"The future workplace will be much more flexible and human-centered, where neurodiversity is seen as part of everyday life, not as an exception."

How do you envision the future workplace evolving to genuinely adapt to and embrace neurodiversity, and what transformative role do you foresee AI-powered platforms like AutiHD playing in actively driving these inclusive ecosystems forward?

I believe the future workplace will fundamentally transform into a much more flexible and genuinely human-centered environment, one where neurodiversity is not viewed as an exception, but fully embraced as an inherent and natural part of everyday life. This shift isn't solely about implementing new policies at work; it's crucially about empowering individuals with the practical tools they need to effectively navigate and manage daily challenges. This is because how you feel and function in your daily life directly influences your presence and performance at work. This is precisely where platforms like our Mindory App become indispensable. Our unwavering focus is to provide comprehensive support to individuals with autism and ADHD in their everyday routines – helping them organize tasks, effectively manage stress, and maintain overall balance. When people feel more confident, secure, and less overwhelmed in their daily lives, they are naturally better equipped to bring their authentic strengths and full potential to the workplace. Therefore, I envision AI-powered solutions not merely as 'workplace tools,' but rather as essential companions that empower neurodivergent individuals to live more fulfilling lives every day – and this, in turn, organically fosters the creation of truly inclusive teams and societies.

Drawing from your background in advising startups and spearheading innovation, what crucial systemic changes and policy reforms do you believe are absolutely essential to significantly enhance support for neurodivergent adults at a broader societal level?

From my extensive experience, the most crucial systemic change required is a fundamental shift in societal awareness. Far too often, society continues to perceive neurodivergence primarily as a childhood issue, or worse, as a 'problem' that needs to be 'fixed.' We desperately need robust policies and widespread education programs that clearly illustrate neurodivergence as simply a different, valid way of thinking, inherently linked with distinct strengths and unique talents. Another pivotal aspect is enhancing access. Adults with autism or ADHD frequently encounter significant barriers, experiencing little to no access to affordable tools, specialized coaching, or appropriately adapted workplaces. It is imperative that digital solutions like ours are formally recognized and subsequently reimbursed by national insurance systems, ensuring that essential support is not exclusively limited to those who possess the financial means to pay out of pocket. Finally, workplaces urgently require structural flexibility. Concepts such as flexible working hours, the legitimate option for remote work, or thoughtfully adapted roles should be normalized and actively supported by policy. These are not merely privileges; for many neurodivergent individuals, they are fundamental necessities that enable them to contribute their skills and talents fully and effectively.
