1. Purpose and scope

This Spam Policy explains what we consider spam on our website, how we prevent it, how we respond when we find it, and how you can report suspected spam. It applies to all users of the site, including registered accounts, guest contributors, and third-party integrations (APIs, webhooks, advertising networks).

This policy covers, but is not limited to, spam in:

  • User-generated content (comments, discussion threads, forum posts, reviews)
  • Private messaging systems and contact forms
  • Account registration and profile fields
  • Email communications sent by the service (newsletters, transactional emails)
  • Automated submissions via API or bots

2. What we define as spam

Spam includes any unsolicited, repetitive, misleading, or abusive content intended primarily to advertise, promote, phish, scam, manipulate ranking, or otherwise disrupt the user experience. Examples include:

  • Bulk advertising messages, repeated posts, or identical content posted across multiple pages
  • Malicious links, phishing attempts, or links that lead to malware or unsafe content
  • Comment or review stuffing to manipulate ratings or search indices
  • Fake accounts or sockpuppets created to inflate engagement or circumvent sanctions
  • Automated submissions (bots) that bypass rate limits or do not follow our API terms
  • Impersonation of individuals, brands, or staff to mislead users
  • Content intended to harvest personal data from other users

3. Prohibited behaviours

Users must not:

  • Post unsolicited promotional messages, affiliate links, or excessive self-promotion in comments, profiles, or messages
  • Use automation to create accounts, post content, or send messages without explicit written permission
  • Attempt to hide the destination of links using redirects, cloaking, URL shorteners, or obfuscation for malicious purposes
  • Upload files or attachments that contain malware or unsafe code
  • Manipulate metrics (views, likes, reviews) using scripts, paid services, or coordinated activity

4. Allowed content and acceptable self-promotion

We understand legitimate sharing and promotion occurs. Allowed behaviour includes:

  • Sharing a relevant product, course, or service when it directly answers a user’s question and adds value
  • Linking to your website or social profile in your account bio/profile
  • Reasonable, non-repetitive mentions of your work in appropriate places

When promoting, always disclose your affiliation and avoid posting the same promotional content repeatedly. If in doubt, contact support.

5. Automated detection and prevention measures

We use a mix of automated and manual measures to detect and prevent spam. Typical protections include:

  • Rate limiting and request throttling on forms, comments, registrations, and APIs
  • CAPTCHA or similar human verification on selected actions (registration, bulk posting, password resets)
  • Heuristics and pattern detection (identical posts, high-frequency posting, suspicious IP behaviour)
  • Reputation and blacklists for known malicious IPs, domains, and user agents
  • Content scanning for suspicious links, payloads, or known malware signatures

These systems are tuned to balance security with user convenience and may change over time.

6. Moderation and enforcement

When content or an account is flagged (automatically or by users), we may take one or more of the following actions depending on severity:

  • Temporary hold/quarantine of the content pending review
  • Removal or redaction of the content
  • Warning to the account owner with guidance to comply
  • Temporary suspension of posting privileges
  • Permanent account suspension for repeated or severe violations
  • Reporting to law enforcement where content violates laws (fraud, threats, child exploitation, etc.)

We will preserve relevant logs and evidence related to enforcement actions for internal review and, when required, for legal authorities.

7. Reporting spam

If you spot spam, please report it using the site’s report button or by emailing our trust & safety team at trust@ceturon.io. Include:

  • A short description of the issue
  • Link(s) to the offending content or user profile
  • Any screenshots or headers that may help (e.g., email headers for suspicious emails)

We aim to acknowledge receipt of reports promptly and investigate within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Email and newsletter policy

We follow best practices to prevent email spam:

  • All marketing emails are sent only to users who explicitly opted in
  • Every marketing email contains a clear, functioning unsubscribe link
  • Transactional emails (account notices, receipts) are exempt from unsubscribe but will not include marketing content
  • We validate third-party email lists before use and keep opt-out lists enforced

If you receive an email from us that looks suspicious, check the sender address carefully and forward it to trust@ceturon.io. Do not click links or open attachments from suspicious messages.

9. API and developer guidelines

Third-party developers and integrators must follow our developer terms and rate limits. Prohibited actions include using automation to scrape private data, sending unsolicited messages to users, or importing spammy content. Violations may result in API key revocation and legal action.

10. Appeals and dispute resolution

If your content or account was moderated and you believe this was in error, you may file an appeal via support@probero.com

Provide:

  • Your account identifier
  • The moderated item(s) or action(s)
  • A concise explanation why you believe the moderation was incorrect

We will review appeals and respond with our decision. Reinstatements are issued at our discretion.

11. Privacy and data handling

Handling reports and enforcement may require processing personal data. We handle such data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Information submitted in reports is used solely for investigation and enforcement.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Spam Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or our services. When material changes occur, we will post the new effective date at the top of this document and notify registered users where appropriate.
